Why do I need Concrete Cleaning?
Possibly one of the most overlooked surfaces of your home is the concrete and walking surfaces. Since these surfaces get dirty gradually, it can be easy to forget what they looked like when they were clean. Take a look at your driveway, sidewalk, or patio with fresh eyes. Years of foot traffic, tire marks, dirt, and organic growth may have covered the surface, detracting from the overall curb appeal of your home. In addition to an aesthetic distraction, these surfaces can become slick and dangerous to walk on, especially when they are wet.
What about the brick work? Does the color look dull? Are the grout lines less crisp than they used to be? In general, brick requires less upkeep than vinyl siding but it is not immune to dirt and mold. This can be especially dangerous when you have brick steps that become slippery each time it rains.

What’s the solution to cleaning concrete?
Concrete, brick and stone are strong surfaces that require an appropriate mix of cleaning solutions and pressure. We will apply the soaps to the surface to allow the dirt and grime to begin breaking down. Then we use a machine specifically created for cleaning large surface areas which equally distributes the pressure as we clean. Patios, brick work, and concrete have become a favorite because of the amazing difference a cleaning will make.
After your surfaces have been cleaned, we highly recommend protecting the surface with a water-proof sealant. In Yorktown, Virginia and the surrounding areas, we have a “freeze-thaw” cycle in the winter months. It may not seem like it, but concrete is very porous. If you were to go outside and pour some water on our driveway, you will observe that some of the water absorbs right into the concrete. When the temperature dips below 32°, any water in the pores of the concrete will freeze and expand like a can of soda left in the freezer. When the moisture inside your concrete goes through this cycle again and again it will cause cracks to form in your driveway and sidewalk. Investing in sealing your concrete will help protect it for years to come by protecting it from moisture.
